Potential Sister Cities and Partnerships
Below we have some suggested good fits as Sister Cities or other types of partnerships. If you happen to have a connection there, please let us know.

Swords, Dublin, Ireland
Montgomery was named for Richard Montgomery who was born in Swords, now a suburban town located ten miles from the center of Dublin.
While smaller than Montgomery, Swords is part of the larger Dublin metro area, as well as being the home town of our namesake.
Population: ~42,000

Gunsan, South Korea
Gunsan, also romanized as Kunsan, is a city in Jeonbuk State, South Korea. It is on the south bank of the Geum River just upstream from its exit into the Yellow Sea. Kunsan Air Base operated by the United States Air Force is in the city.
Due to the strong presence of Hyundai in the region, we feel that a South Korean city is a natural fit. Gunsan is roughly the same size as Montomgery, and also features an air base.
Population: ~264,000

Derry, Northern Ireland
The Royal Anglian Regiment
Montgomery, Powys, Wales
Derry, officially Londonderry, is the second-largest city in Northern Ireland, and the fifth-largest on the island of Ireland. Located in County Londonderry, the city now covers both banks of the River Foyle.
Derry was a focal point for the nascent civil rights movement in Northern Ireland. There are many parallels between events such as Selma's Bloody Sunday and Derry's Bloody Sunday, while places like the Legacy Museum in Montgomery and the Museum of Free Derry have explored comparative histories of racial and sectarian violence. Population: ~85,000, Metro area: 237,000
Montgomery is a town and community in Powys, Wales. It is the traditional county town of the historic county of Montgomeryshire to which it gives its name, and it is within the Welsh Marches border area. It is home to Montgomery Castle, and is located about 1 mile from the England - Wales border.
The main connection is obviously the name. Due to the disparate size, we aren't advocating an actual Sister City Partnership, but perhaps there is some opportunity to be had here.
Population: ~1,300
The Royal Anglian Regiment is an infantry regiment of the British Army. the modern regiment was formed in 1964, making it the oldest of the line regiments now operating in the British Army, and can trace its history back to 1685. Richard Montgomery, the namesake of Montgomery served in this unit, which has a number of regimental alliances with military units around the world. Given Montgomery's strong air force presence due to Maxwell and Gunter, there could be an opportunity for some sort of partnership here.
